My name is Clint Howell, I’ve been doing CrossFit here since July 2016.

One way that CrossFit has improved my life, it gives me something to do, something to look forward to, outside of work. It’s a hobby. But it really does become more than a hobby. It’s something that I enjoy doing, look forward to doing, as much as I can.

Something that I’ve achieved since I started doing CrossFit, specifically here at Wellness, is gotten my dedication, my time management a little better. I was coming afterwork just when I felt like it. It’s so easy to go home and not come work out. There’s always a reason, something to do. So now I’ve decided to start coming in the mornings, the 5:30am class. It’s really helped me to do it at the beginning of the day, that way there are no issues going forward. I can do what I want after work. There’s class times during the day… There’s always a time that you can do.

Some goals that I’m working on now, personally, is my flexibility. There are some lifts that are harder for me because I’m not very flexible at all. It definitely makes a difference. It’s just something you have to put the time and the effort into. If you don’t, then you’re not going to see the results.

If you’re on the fence about joining CrossFit, I would say just come in, take that first step. Show up, it might be intimidating, you might have some preconceived notions about what it is. Everything is scalable to you. You see on TV or on the Internet, all these people lifting huge amounts and doing crazy things. Everything is adjusted to what you can do. If you can’t do it, or if it’s too much weight, adjust it. There’s no reason for you to come in here and try to do stuff you’re not able to do.
